Autumn Allen, Director of Museum Services

Autumn joined the MDM team in 2012.  She is passionate about improving visitor experience and development with local organizations. Autumn brings 12 years of business management experience to her position. She graduated from the New Mexico College of Natural Healing in 2003. She continued her education in Business and Nutrition at the University of Maine. Additionally, Autumn is a certified personal trainer with a  focus on youth fitness and nutrition. Autumn is excited about positive growth and development in the region with a specific focus on Downtown Bangor. Autumn enjoys dancing through Recollections when on the third floor at MDM. 
 
Trudi Plummer, Director of Education

Trudi Plummer joined a brand new children’s museum in downtown Bangor in August of 2001. For over 15 years it has been a wonderful adventure! Before moving to the USA with her husband she received her M. ED from the Julius Maximillian University in Wuerzburg, Germany. She taught at a small village school and led the “KiKiBu” project: educational outreach to mountain communities in Northern Bavaria. Trudi has developed and taught nearly every educational program at the museum and outreach all over Maine. She lives with her husband Jon, a SVP at Bangor Savings Bank, Norman dog and the kittens in Veazie. Trudi’s favorite places in the museum are Turtle Alley and Dino Dig.
 
Kim Stewart, Director of Programs and Community Engagement

Kim joined the MDM family in 2006 when she began as a volunteer in high school. Shortly after, she was hired as a summer camp teacher and part-time visitor services associate. After graduating from the University of Maine with her B.S. in elementary education with a concentration in science, she joined our full time staff. Kim has started many new initiatives at the Discovery Museum and in addition to program development, teaching, volunteer management, and hiring and training summer camp teachers, Kim is also the programming coordinator for the Maine Science Festival.  You can see Kim all over the museum from teaching Discovery Clubs, to making activities for books in the library, to showing off her Jellyfish Dance.
 

 
Tina DeMerchant, Finance Manager

Tina joined the staff of the Maine Discovery Museum in November of 2011. She was first hired as a sub-contractor and was so thrilled to be a part of the fun team here at MDM that she became an employee of the Museum within 6 months. She comes to us with an Associate of Arts Degree in Bookkeeping and Office Administration.  She has over 30 years of experience in bookkeeping and more recently with several Non Profits.  Tina lives with her husband and son in Old Town.  She is the Treasurer for her son’s school PTC.  She always enjoys time at her husband’s family camp on Madawaska Lake; watching her son play various sports; watching the Boston Bruins and playing competitive tennis.

Remi GeoheganWeekend Manager

Remi joined the MDM staff in 2016 as Weekend Service Manager after recently completing a Bachelors in Science degree at College of the Atlantic. She grew up in Costa Rica where she learned Spanish and developed a passion for youth engagement and outdoor education. Remi has worked with children and young adults for six years and assists museum programs, coordinates birthday parties, and welcomes new volunteers


 
Sarah Hewett, Visitor Services Associate

Sarah grew up here in Maine. She attended and graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelors of Arts in English with a Creative Writing concentration, and a minor in Women & Gender studies. She enjoys spending time at home, reading, writing, painting, and spending time with her animals.

Gary Robichaud, Facilities
