Current Openings

Maine Discovery Museum’s Education Department has multiple, seasonal, full-time summer position openings:  STEAM Educators for themed camps and science outreach to deliver highly engaging hands-on learning experiences. 30-40 hours a week; $16 - $18/hour. Flexible training sessions beginning in May.

Successful candidates will have extensive experience working with children of elementary and middle school age in informal education, schools, childcare, or comparable settings. Successful candidates will be mature, reliable, safe, organized, and driven. They will have experience creating and implementing hands-on STEAM activities, work well in a team, and be enthusiastic, patient, kind, and creative.

Formal and informal educators/teachers, ED techs, and students of education and STEAM related fields are encouraged to apply!

Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience in informal education settings. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required for some positions.
